Welcome to the new website for the Alliance.  This site uses real forum software instead of the content management system I was using before which should make discussion easier.

This site will actually flag unread posts since your last visit correctly (unlike the old site).  You can click the "Show unread posts since your last visit" link in the top right corner of every page to get caught up quickly.

You can also subscribe to individual threads (like the old site)  and now you can subscribe to a board to receive email notifications whenever a new thread is started on that board.

The photo gallery is also running on different software now.  The thumbnails and images are bigger and easier to see.  The first time you go to the Photo Gallery page you will have to type your forum password; you will not have to type it on subsequent visits.  All registered users can upload images by clicking on the "Add items" link on the left side of the page in the appropriate album.

I want your feedback about the calendar.  The forum has a built in calendar that links events to forum posts so you can discuss a planned event.  This calendar does not have as many viewing options as the calendar on the old site did, though.  But, I can keep the calendar from the old site if people want.  Also, let me know if you are currently syndicating the calendar from the old site (Google Calendar) via RSS or the iCal file; if so, I will keep that calendar up to date also.

This new site also allows you to have forum signatures and you can change the template (and it will remember your template when you log in).  Those options are on the "Profile" link at the top of the page.

If you have any questions, you can send me a PM here, email help [at] allianceguilds [dot] net or send in-game mail to Uged.

Regards,
Uged

Thanks for all your hard work, Uged!

I prefer the calendar listing you did on the old site - it was easy for me to copy and paste into guild mails for weekly events.

Whatever works best for you!

My first impressions, as I haven't had time to dig into the site much yet:
Nice look on the new site - a very clean default theme.
I'm definitely a fan of the summary-view calendars, which I haven't yet found on the new site.
Looking forward to perusing the galleries.

I switched the calendar on this site to the Google Calendar one we were using on the previous site.  Enjoy!

 Greetings Alliance Guilds!

What an exciting day for us all at the Wrath Guild Hall! To be invited to ally with such wonderful
guilds is truely an honour. Thank you to all those in CA who have meet with us over the last few weeks,
and who have  made this venture, and adventure , so enjoyable. I know a few of Wrath's members have already
been in groups with some of you, and we hope your impression of us at least equals our impressions of you.
< Glowing reports, members coming back home all elated, etc Tongue> I am looking forward to the days and months to
come, and a renewed spirit of enjoyment in our gameplay. May you continue to thrive in game and out, and the bonds between all our guilds serve to bind us even closer.

And as to the question of the website!  I think it's absolutely marvelous!

Faithfully yours,
Esprite of Wrath

Hi y'all,
For those of you who don't know the name "Lyzander", I'm Lumark, the Inquisitor from Wrath that has been tagging along with y'all lately. Thanks again for letting Wrath join the alliance, and if there is ever anything Wrath can do for you, send me a tell or give a shout on the Alliance channel. Esprite is the leader of the guild, but she has tasked me with being the liaison for the guild within the alliance. Hope to get to know y'all {or should that be "all y'all? Wink } better.
